Studies & Research

As a social change organization, Hoshen views field research as integral to its mission. An academic research team operates within the organization, using its activities to conduct studies on a variety of LGBT related topics. In undertaking its research projects, Hoshen often collaborates with institutes of higher education. Recent studies have included the center's Milestone Study, a survey-driven model to establish development milestones for LGBT-Israelis based on sexual orientation, and its follow-up on attitude change among high school students exposed to Hoshen events, a study that showed statistically significant positive changes in attitudes to LGBT-Israelis, specifically in the emotional sphere. (Both articles will see final publication soon: the Milestone Study in an upcoming Reader to be published by Beit Berl College, and the Attitude Change Study in an upcoming special edition of The Journal of LGBT Youth.)
